I have always held a unique fascination with the world of “magic”. As a child, when magicians took the stage, I remember sitting in awe of the amazing methods and techniques that were used by these professionals. I have even picked up on a few magic tricks myself through the years. A few of the neighborhood kids have visited my home so that I could perform a few simply tricks. These young children wanted to learn some of the little tricks that I displayed. I taught them how to find a coin in the ear, and even how to take that coin and place it in the hand and then move it across the room with little to no effort. I have found that the children are always really impressed when it comes to divulging the techniques that I use in my magic tricks to simply distract their attention, and now you will be too!

As a professional coach, I have learned to implement some of these amazing tricks into my sessions. People, in general, perceive the world around them based on what they believe to be true. In turn, they interact with the people around them based on their unique belief system. Their behaviors and thoughts are often based on these principles. I have numerous clients that I work with on a regular basis. It is important to me and my clients that I am able to assist them in achieving their goals, overcome doubt, change their mode of thinking, and other similar tasks. This is not an easy feat if you are not educated in the ability to manipulate the thoughts, behaviors, and actions of another person. The techniques and strategies implemented in these videos can help you do just this!

I will be the first to admit, however, that knowing how to manipulate and bend another person to your will is often a burden. Knowing how to trick and twist the mind in order to gain some level of control over another individual eventually loses its natural appeal. However, when you look at the success that your clients are experiencing as a direct result of this ability, it makes it all worthwhile. Professional coaches live and strive to help others. It is part of who they are, what they want, and have to achieve. These effective NLP techniques can assist in this task in many different ways!

I will admit, even though in the physical body, I am 50 years old; I am still a kid at heart when it comes to observing magicians that truly know their field. Derren Brown is one magician that I truly feel knows his abilities and is confident in his work. Even if you are not in the professional coaching industry, you can really be entertained by watching this professional work his magic among others!

Derren Brown’s Most Amazing Trick in My Opinion:

Derren Brown displays in one of his videos, the ability to convince the mind that it is feeling pain, or that a certain component of the body, he uses the hand, is “dead”. The subjects in this particular video are three college students. Here, he is able to convince all three that they are experiencing a toothache. With a simple word, all are relieved of the pain. Then, he immediately turns to one subject and quickly convinces them that their hand is “numb”…it is absolutely fascinating! You can see the full video here!
