I don't think NLP is exactly fake as it does incorporates many valid psychological aspects that could make you " think differently or become more creative or smart." I don't personally know enough about NLP but like all theories it has its believers and skeptics. It may work for some but not all, as you are an example. However, don't expect to get smarter or more creative by just reading the book. It will require diligence on your part to implement the ideas presented. Even some of the lesser theories can be successful on some level if one takes the time to implement those strategies into his or her life. If you really want to get smarter and more creative keep reading a wide variety of books, even the ones that may not initially interest you or that you find are against your beliefs. Sometimes those are the most thought provoking!
